§ 6-85. Dogs and cats.

  • (a)

    Application. No person shall keep, harbor or maintain a dog or cat over the age of six months, unless it is licensed as hereinafter provided. Licenses for such dogs and cats shall be issued by the city clerk. Applications for licenses shall be made on forms provided by the city clerk. The application shall require:

    (1)

    The name of the owner;

    (2)

    The name, breed, age, color and sex of the dog or cat; and

    (3)

    Such other information as may be considered necessary.

    The owner of a dog or cat not previously licensed hereunder shall immediately, following compliance with the vaccination requirements of this section, apply for the license established by this section.

    (b)

    Term. Dog and cat licenses shall be valid for a period of one year, to be purchased during the month of June.
